September 30, 1921 - June 28, 2013

Ruth K. Weber, 91, of North Vernon passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany.

Born September 30, 1921 in Tell City, Ruth was the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth Hermann Hagedorn. She graduated from Tell City High School in 1939. She married Charles E. Weber June 3, 1941. They moved to North Vernon from Lincoln City in 1968. Charles preceded her in death in 1980.

Ruth was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, was active in St. Vincent DePaul Society, Pro Life Group, the prayer line and the funeral dinner committee at St. Mary's. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards with the Who Dealt Euchre Club, crafts and sewing.

She is survived by her children, Charlene (Jerry) Wilson of Rockport, Kathy (Bill) Winchell of Jeffersonville, Dennis (Karen) Weber of Panama City Beach, FL, Ward (Pam) Weber of Jeffersonville, Karen (Bill) Painter of Dale, Bill (Debbie) Weber of Panama City Beach, FL, Pat Weber of New Albany, Charlie (Mary) Weber of North Vernon, Marilyn (Jim) Wernke of Indianapolis, Rick (Cindy) Weber of Floyds Knobs, and Chris (Marla) Weber of North Vernon; a son-in-law, Wayne Stroud of Fairfield, OH; three brothers, Walter, Jimmie, and Louie Hagedorn; one sister, Jeanette Schaefer; forty-four grandchildren, seventy-seven great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, LeeAnn Stroud, brothers, Lee, Cyril, and Dennis Hagedorn; sisters, Dorothy Hagedorn, Marcella Cobbler, Francis Ludwig, and Mildred Casey, a grandson, Eric Wilson, and a great grandson, Adam Wilson.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Jonathan Meyer officiating. Interment will be in St. Martin Cemetery in Centerville, IN at 3:00 PM (Central Time). Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. A rosary will be conducted at 3:30 PM at the funeral home.
