Mrs. Ruth Marie (Stille) Schroeder

Ruth Marie (Stille) Schroeder, 70, of North Vernon passed away at 7:43 pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at her home.

Born October 8, 1939 in Batesville, she was the daughter of the late Helen Webb and John W. Stille. She attended Greensburg High School and later married John W. Schroeder. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2009.

Mrs. Schroeder was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo and pogo. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon.

Surviving are five sons, Doug (Sheri), Jeff (Tamika), Greg, and John Schroeder all of North Vernon and Brian (Lori) Schroeder of Paris Crossing; one daughter, Jenny Broome of Carmel; four brothers, Butch (Helen) Stille of Greensburg, John Stille of Edgewater, FL, Mike (Jane) Webb of Seymour, and Gary Webb of Commiskey; one half-brother, Bill (Toni) Stille of Greensburg; one step sister, Judith (Chuck) Yoder of Goshen; one step brother Rick (Nancy) Richardson of Greensburg; twenty-one grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, her parents, two sister, Juanita Moore and Sonya Fulmer.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Jonathan Meyer officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home on Friday with a Rosary service at 3:30 pm. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
