Mrs. Ruth L. Hoppock

Ruth L. Hoppock, 85 of Scipio passed away on May 9, 2011 in North Vernon.

Born on October 19, 1925 in Calhoun, Missouri, Ruth was the daughter of the late James Beck and Anna Rumans Molloy. She married Gerald D. Hoppick and he preceded her in death in 1997.

Mrs. Hoppock had been a member of the Azalia - Sandcreek Friends Meeting House in the past and more currently attended the North Vernon Church of Christ. She had been employed during the 1940's and 50's at Arvins. Ruth was active in the Jennings County Literacy Council and loved flowers, gardening, photography and her grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Steve (Valerie) Hoppock of North Vernon and two grandsons, Garrett A. and Alexander J. Hoppock.

Those that preceded her in death include her parents, two sons, Gerald L. And David L. Hoppock, a brother, James R. Molloy, and a sister, Margaret King.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service in North Vernon on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Horton officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service of Thursday.
