Mrs. Ruth M. Corbin

May 30, 1930 - December 11, 2014

Ruth M. Corbin, 84, of North Vernon passed away peacefully at 2:35 PM Thursday, December 11, 2014, at her residence.

Born May 30, 1930, Ruth was the daughter of Johnson Samuel and Mallie Brightwell Walton Jr. She married John F. Corbin January 1, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2005.

She attended Paris Crossing High School, and retired from the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center after twenty five years of service. She was a fifty year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Ruth is survived by her children; John David (Margaret) Corbin of Madisonville, KY, Cheryl Lynne (Ron) Gearries of Columbus, Theresa Kaye Corbin of Columbus, and Jeffrey Duane Corbin of North Vernon; grandchildren, Charlie and David James Corbin of Florida, Kenyahna (Brent) Helwig of Seymour, Kendra (Brian) Hobbick of Columbus, and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; three brothers, Allen, Spears, and Charles Lee; sisters, Mary, Margaret, and Juanita.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Dr. H.O. Wilson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of the service.
