Mr. Russell D. Sporleder

Russell D. Sporleder, 86, of Butlerville, died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Jennings Health Care Center.
Mr. Sporleder retired from Arvin Industries after 20 years, and was a farmer. He was a member of Graham Baptist Church and served on the advisory board in Bigger Township. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.
Born August 18, 1924, he was the son of Herbert E. and Elsie Baker Sporleder. He married Betty Jean Otto Sporleder on April 9, 1946. She preceded him in death on November 9, 2007.
He is survived by two daughters, Charlene Dee Carnahan of Butlerville and Sherry Diane Curry of North Vernon, two sons, Stanley Dale Sporleder of Guilford, IN, and Daryl Brent Sporleder of Fischer, IL, one sister, Edith Lovegrove of North Vernon, and one brother, Marvin Sporleder of North Vernon, eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sporleder was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his brother, Paul Sporleder.

Funeral Information

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon with Rev. Dennis Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
