Mrs. Ruby James

Ruby James, 95 of Greensburg and formerly of North Vernon passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Heritage House Healthcare Center in Greensburg.

Born July 3, 1917 in Jamestown, TN, Ruby was the daughter of the late John and Sidney Goodman Anderson. Ruby Anderson married Virgil James on January 1, 1963 in Selma, IN. He preceded her in death. Mrs. James lived in Hartford City until 1968 at which time she moved to North Vernon.

Ruby enjoyed gardening and doing housework.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Robertson and his wife Diana of Westport, a step-daughter Mary Goodman of Wheeling, IN, and two step-granddaughters, Reba Renee Blumenhorst of Dunkirk, IN and Kathy Goodman of Wheeling, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a step-son, William Robertson, two sisters, Bernice Beatty and Imogene Anderson, and two brothers, Clarence Anderson and Ernest Goodman.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will held at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 24, 2012 with Rev. Larry Hatton officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of the service. Burial will be at Rodney Friendship Separate Baptist Cemetery near Westport.
