Mr. Roy Vincent Covington

September 20, 1942 - October 11, 2013

Roy Vincent Covington, 71, of Deputy, passed away at 6:20 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 at his residence.
Born September 20, 1942 in Dupont, Roy was the son of the late Raymond Guy and Virginia Holewager Covington. He later married Nellie Francis LaPine on April 17, 1981 in Deputy. She preceded him in death on August 31, 2009.
Mr. Covington was a 1961 graduate of Dupont High School who later went to work and retired from Cummins Engine Company in Columbus. He thoroughly enjoyed taking care of his home and property.
He is survived by four sisters, Velma Aline Marling of North Vernon, Mary Peters and Marjorie Marcum both of Deputy, and Joann Eman of Albany, Kentucky. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Virginia Covington and his wife, Nellie Covington.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will be at Dupont Cemetery.
