Mr. Ronald F. Wahlman

November 10, 1924 - February 24, 2015

Ronald Frederick Wahlman, 90 of San Jacinto died Tuesday, February 24 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mr. Wahlman was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a member of Graham Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He served as a member of the first Jennings County School Board and as a member of the Southeastern Indiana Rural Telephone Board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his great-grandchildren.

He was born on November 10, 1924, the son of Albert and Lucile Cruft Wahlman. He graduated from Dupont High School in 1942 and married Mary Jo Schuman in 1945.

Survivors include sons, Larry (Judy) Wahlman of Dupont, Richard (Susan) Wahlman of San Jacinto, Joseph (Jill) Wahlman of North Vernon; daughter, Leanne (Vincent) Rettig of Greensburg; grandchildren, Jacob Wahlman, Chris (Jennifer)Wahlman, Emily (Mark) Greenwald, Joe Rettig, Joel (Megan) Wahlman, Leslee (Justin) Brown, Leah (Jake) Ison, Jeffrey Wahlman and Kimberly Wahlman; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wahlman was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years, Mary Jo; and granddaughter Karen Wahlman.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p. m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Monday. Burial will follow at the Graham Baptist Church Cemetery in San Jacinto.
