Ronald E. Lewis Sr.

Ronald E. Lewis Sr., 65, of Butlerville passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 6:00 a.m. at his home.

Born November 9, 1943 in Scottsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late Garland and Mary Swango Lewis Garrett.

Mr. Lewis had retired in 2005 from Cummins after 35 years of employment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, and watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda, sons, Ronald E. Lewis Jr., Troy, David, and Nathan Lewis all of North Vernon, Jason Lewis of Poplar Bluff, MO, an adopted son Michael Lewis of Columbus, a brother, Tony Lewis of Sellersburg, a sister Nancy Pullen of Charlestown,10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Floyd Lewis.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Wooddell officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
