Robert Smallwood, 86, of Elizabethtown, passed away at 9:49 a.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Majestic Care of North Vernon.

No Service is planned at this time. Cremation was chosen. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on August 19, 1937, in Hardin County, KY., Robert was the loving son of Fred and Beulah (Cox) Smallwood. He was united in marriage to Sherry Aldridge on September 13, 1974. She survives.

Robert retired from Cummins Inc. He enjoyed fishing, building things, watching sports especially baseball, growing flowers, and gardening. Most of all, Robert cherished time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Sherry Smallwood of Elizabethtown, he is survived by son, Kenneth (Kim) Lakins of Scipio; daughters, Melissa (Mike) Redkey of North Vernon, Tammy (Greg) Isaacs of McKee, KY, and Trena Redd of Connersville; sister, Veona "Tiny" Moody of OK; brother, Neal Smallwood of FL; brother  in law and sister in law, Kathy and Ralph Anderson of KY; grandchildren, Shane Lakins, K'lynn Smallwood, Michael Redkey, Tiffany Redkey, Tyler Isaacs, Chelsea Isaacs Wilson, Jeremy Redd, Natasha Redd, Joshua Redd, and Naomi Redd; great grandchildren, Timothy Dooley, Gabriella Isaacs, Kennedy Isaacs, Sophie Wilson, and Harper Wilson; several nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Beulah Smallwood; sisters, Catherine Kelly, and Evelyn Kaiser; brothers, Paul Smallwood, and Lionel Sipes.
