Robert Lee Perry went home to be with his Heavenly Father on August 15, 2019.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Gary Haines will officiate. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2019, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.

Born July 9, 1948, in Columbus, Robert was the son of Mitchell and Sarah (Redmond) Perry. He married Nancy Franks on July 20, 1968. She survives.

Robert attended Columbus High School. Then went on to work for 5 years as a mechanic with his father, working at Arvins for 20 years. Later he became part owner of T&R Auto Sales in North Vernon for 40+ years. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing, and racing. Robert especially enjoyed watching and participating in his son's auto racing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and splitting wood with his wife.

In addition to his wife, Nancy Perry of North Vernon, survivors include son, Cody (Michelle) Perry of North Vernon; brothers, Art (Janice) Perry and Terry (Diana) Perry both of North Vernon; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janet Couchman; and brother, Charles Wayne Perry.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
