Robert H. Derringer

November 21, 1924 - July 20, 2009

Robert H. Derringer, 84, of Commiskey, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 7:15 p.m. at Waters of Seymour.

Born November 21, 1924 in Jennings County, he was the son of the late Clyde and Hazel King Derringer. He later married Mary Branham on December 24, 1944. She preceded him in death on July 31, 1992.

Mr. Derringer was employed by ITT Thompson where he retired as a foreman. He was a member of the VFW Men's Auxiliary and the Senior Citizens. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and riding his four wheeler.

He is survived by his son, Roger Derringer of Commiskey, two grandchildren, Amiee (Paul) Skirvin and Zachary Derringer, a great grandchild, Tori Tippett and three step grandchildren, Samantha, Trish and Justin Skirvin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, Stella Mae Peacock and Helen Gudgel.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home. Rev. Damon Marling will officiate. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home.
