Robert Allen Anderson Jr., 85, of Indianapolis, passed away at 3:24 p.m. on November 12, 2019 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Services. Rev. John Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. before the start of the service.

Born on March 18, 1934, in Bloomington, Robert was the son of the late Robert Allen and Margaret Elizabeth (Davis) Anderson. He was united in marriage to Nancy Lyle on February 6, 1953. She survives.

Robert graduated from Bloomington High School and was a track star.  Robert and Nancy lived most of their lives in North Vernon before moving to Indianapolis. He was a supervisor at Cummins Engineering Company until his retirement. He then worked at Grand Rental in Seymour. Robert was a huge fan of Indiana University Football and Basketball as well as the Indianapolis Colts. In addition to his love of fishing, hunting, and camping, Robert especially cherished spending time around the dinner table at large family gatherings. He was a member of the Second United Methodist Church.

In addition to his loving wife, Nancy Anderson of Indianapolis, survivors include daughter, Vicki (Teddy) Cooper of Wichita, KS; son, Robert (Angela) Anderson of Wichita, KS; sister, Lorita Carter of Bloomington; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Margaret Anderson; 6 siblings.
