Rita F. Risner, 72, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:22 a.m., on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at her home.

There will be a graveside service at a later date, at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN. Rev. Ricky Person will officiate. Cremation was chosen. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service is entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on August 20, 1950, in Pikeville, KY, Rita was the loving daughter of Mallie and Ruby (Gayheart) Tackett. She was united in marriage to Harold Risner. He survives.

Rita was a day care provider throughout the years. She loved to cook, and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Harold Risner of North Vernon, survivors include daughter, Julie (Bruce) Rennemeier of North Vernon; sister, Linda Tackett of Hanover; brothers, Ernie Tackett of Covington, KY, Will Tackett of Covington, KY, Gary Tackett of Hebron, KY; grandchildren, Hannah Fleek, and Justin Rennemeier; great grandchild, Kayden Fleek.

Rita was preceded in death by parents, Mallie and Ruby Tackett; sisters, Marie Storer, Edith Stone, Irene Slusher, and Brenda Tackett; brother, Gene Tackett.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County  .
