Richard Albert Wright, 69, of Commiskey passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Schneck Memorial Hospital.
Born October 18, 1938, he was the son of Luchin & Margaret Coffman Wright. He married Linda Terry July 1, 1960.
Mr. Wright was an Army Veteran and had owned and operated several businesses during his life. He began with Wright's Texaco, and then went on to Wright Auto, R&L Tech Supply which he retired from, the Old Paris Store, and Wright Jobber Sales. He also worked for the Indiana State Highway Department. His true passion was home building. He built over thirty homes in the Commiskey area. He enjoyed going to auctions, NASCAR, fishing, boxing, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, Linda Wright of Commiskey, one daughter;
Annette (Russell "Whitey" ) Richardson of Commiskey, two sons; Dwayne Wright of North Vernon, and Brian (Missy) Wright of Commiskey, three brothers; Bill & Ernie Wright of Commiskey, and John Wright of Indianapolis, three sisters; Mary McKinny of Indianapolis, Linda Colley of Whitesburg, KY, and Shirley Ward of Seymour, grandchildren, Carrie Horton, Amanda Riley, Megan Napier, Abigail Wright, Elizabeth Wright, Adam Wright, Nick Wright, Katie Wilson, and Cory Horton, great-grandchildren, Katelyn & Michael Horton, and Hannah Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Charles, Walter & Marvin Wright, and one sister; Kathy Colley.
Funeral Information
The Funeral Service will be conducted Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral Home with the Rev. Bart Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday and from 12:00 PM till the time of service Wednesday. Burial with military graveside rites will be conducted at Hopewell Cemetery.
