Mr. Richard Dick Streepy

March 19, 1933 - August 18, 2008

Richard "Dick" Streepy, 75, of North Vernon died Monday afternoon at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis as a result of a recent fall.

Mr. Streepy had been employed at Brehob Electric of Indianapolis. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and the Indiana National Guard. He was graduate of Odon High School at Odon. He had resided in Country Squire Lakes since 1984, moving here from Greenwood. He was a lifetime member and past commander of American Legion Post 252 of Greenwood and a member of the Murat Shrine.

Born March 19, 1933, in Odon, he was the son of Russell and Martha Bunch Streepy. He married Barbara Tomey Dec. 22, 1956, at Indianapolis. She survives.

Other survivors are two daughters, Sheryl Roberts of Coal City and Debra Fowler of Greenwood; two sons, Mark Streepy of Bradenton, Fla., and David Streepy of Greencastle; one brother, Billy Streepy of Rogers, Ark.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sue Shafer, in 2005.

Arrangements were made in care of Sawyer~Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 PM to time of service, with Military rites provided by the North Vernon VFW Post 2021.

Donations Information

Memorials may be made to the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Children's Home at Knightstown through the funeral home.
