Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Richard Lynn Goad of Seymour, who passed away on June 30, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on February 13, 1962, in Louisville, Kentucky, Richard lived a life full of passion, family, and interests that brought joy to those around him.

Richard was a dedicated employee at O'Reilly Auto Parts, where he made lasting friendships and connections in the auto parts industry. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time gardening, cooking up delicious meals, and sharing great moments with family and friends. Richard loved the great outdoors-whether it was fishing, hunting, or cheering on his favorite University of Kentucky sports teams, he embraced every moment.

He had a playful spirit and an eye for collecting, whether it was coins, stamps, comic books, or baseball cards. His enthusiasm for car races with his good friend Jamie added more laughter to his life.

Richard is survived by his beloved family, including his son, Robert (Desiree) Morrow of Seymour; daughter, Catherine (Dan) Meyers of CA; brother, Steve (Audrey) Goad of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Darian, Alexis, Bryson, and Sophia; nieces, Jade, Brandie, and Brittany.

A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Family and friends are invited to come together to share stories, laughter, and fond memories of a wonderful man who touched so many lives. burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Richard's memory may be made to Mercy Rescue & Adoption through the funeral home.

Richard's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Richard. You will be missed.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Ann Matthews Goad; father, Billy and Zelta Marler Goad.
