Rachael Elizabeth Shaw, 40, passed away at on Friday, March 20, 2020, at Franciscan Health in Greenwood.

Rachael is survived by her daughter, Mackenzie Deppe of Vernon; father, Dave Shaw of North Vernon; brother, Josh (Stephanie) Shaw of North Vernon; sister, Lisa Barlow of North Vernon; nephews, Nick Barlow of Louisville, KY, Alex and Joe Barlow of North Vernon, Davey and Solly Shaw of Vernon; great-niece, Kennedy Barlow; and great-nephew, Jaxon Kendall.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Karen Shaw; niece, Caitlin Barlow; brother-in-law, Billy Barlow; and grandparents, Bob Shaw, Dale and Barbara Losey.

Rachael was born on March 6, 1980 in Seymour, IN to Dave and Karen Shaw. She graduated from Jennings County High School in 1998 and was a life-long resident of Jennings County.

Rachael was a long-time employee of Shaw Monuments but also previously worked for the US Postal Service.  She loved working with children and served as an instructional assistant and substitute teacher for Jennings County Schools.  Rachael would do anything to help someone or make someone smile, and she was an active volunteer.  She served as archery coach at Madison Shawe High School, and she especially loved coaching softball for North Vernon Parks.  She also was passionate about animals and was a supporter of Mercy Rescue and Adoption.

More than anything, Rachael loved her daughter.   To honor that, In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help Mackenzie achieve her goals in college and beyond.  Donations can be made in care of Sawyer Pickett Funeral Home.
