Phyllis Jean Mason

Phyllis Jean Mason , 80, of Commiskey, passed away at her residence on Sunday, December 13, 2009.

Born May 23, 1929, in Howard County, Indiana. She was the daughter of late Wesley W. and Elsie M. Washington Cox. She married Edward Walker, he preceded her in death. She later married Kenneth D. Mason who also preceded her in death.

Phyllis was a homemaker and also retrired from Muscatatuck State Developmental Center after 15 years.

She is survived by four daughters, Diane Lauderbaugh of Fishers, Susan Broshears and Regina Fry, both of Brownstown, Janet Mitchell of Shirley and a son, Duane Mason of Louisville. She is survived by 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a daughter, Wilma Gabbard and a brother, Harold Cox.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home, in North Vernon. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 4-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. George Reece will be officiating. Burial will be at the Dupont Cemetery.
