Paul Wilfred Randall, 87, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2017.
A funeral service will be held at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Marvin Sweet will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.
Born August 8, 1930, in Meadville, PA, Paul was the son of the late Chauncey and Sarah Berringer Randall. He graduated from Meadville High School in 1948. He married Esther Marie Smith on July 8, 1950. She survives.
Paul served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1950-52. He worked for 23 years as the laundry manager at the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center. He was named laundry manager of the year in 1962 for the state of Indiana. He later retired from Columbus Regional Hospital after 15 years of employment. Paul was a member of First United Methodist Church, Butlerville Masonic Lodge #219 of which he had served as a past master, and Rolling Hills Shrine Club.
He is survived by his wife, Esther; three daughters, Carol (Robert) Pennington of North Vernon, Jane (Michael) McLeod of North Vernon and Dianne Gilpin of Indianapolis; one son, David (Janet) Randall of North Vernon; one sister, Barbara Kelyman of Meadville, PA; seven grandchildren, Brandy (Oscar) Rodriguez, John (Sara McCarthy) Pennington, Chauncey (Meghan) McLeod, Zachary (Nicole) Randall, Kyra (Kyle) Littrell, Devin (Jessica) Gilpin and Keaton Gilpin; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chauncey and Sarah Randall; four brothers, Homer, Robert, Stewart and Merle Randall; one sister, Dorothy Wolfgang; and two great-grandsons, Owen and Matthew Randall.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First United Methodist Church or Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
