Mr. Paul Edwin Nelson

Paul Edwin Nelson, 83, of North Vernon, passed away on September 7, 2011 at his residence.

Born on March 17, 1928, in Duluth, MN, Mr. Nelson was the son of Carl and Eileen Harinen Nelson. He married Joyce Cofer on February 26, 1949 in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Mr. Nelson had lived in Wichita Falls for 23 years where he ran a service station. He later moved to Arlington, TX where he was employed with Darr Equipment for 28 years. Paul was a private pilot, and enjoyed flying his personal airplane. In his later years he enjoyed computers.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Nelson of North Vernon, a daughter Rebecca (Dennis) Lucille Boggs of North Vernon, a son, Craig (Tammi) Alan Nelson of Austin, TX, three grandchildren, Ashlee Roberts, Vanessa Nelson, and Amanda Boggs, three great-grandchildren, Alexia Sneed, Lela Sneed, and Dawson Walp, three sisters, Betty Bergeron of Bloomington, MN, Gertrude Petersen of Braham, MN, and Beverly Heger of Coon Rapids, MN, and two brothers, George Nelson of Garden City, KS and Dennis Nelson of Inver Grove Heights, MN.

Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Eric Boggs, and two brothers, Donnie Charles and Billy Bob Nelson.

Funeral Information

There will be a memorial service conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Kevin Bell will officiate. There will be a gathering of friends and family on Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.
