Mrs. Patricia L. Champ

Patricia L. Champ, 83, of Jackson, TN, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Northbrooke Health Care in Jackson, TN.

Born in Ripley County on December 23, 1929, Mrs. Champ was the daughter of the late Charles and Verna Henderson Cumberworth. She earned a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and a master's degree in education from Western Michigan University. She taught school for over 33 years.

Mrs. Champ had been a resident of Jackson, TN, for the past 20 years. She was associated with the AARP Tax Aid Service for several years and participated in the Senior Olympics for over 14 years.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Russell E. Champ of Jackson, TN; two sons, Larry B. (Kelly) Champ of Cairo, MO, and Garry J. (Marsha) Champ of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral Information

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Lawrence-Sorenson Funeral Home in Jackson, TN. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013, at Otter Creek Cemetery in Nebraska. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Monday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.
