Omer Caffee, 41, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:25 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at his residence.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Services.  Rev. Gill Hawkes will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.  Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Born December 31, 1975, in Columbus, Omer was the son of Billy Gene Caffee, Sr. and Necia Helen Gearlds Hammonds.

Omer enjoyed attending the Friendship Flea Market, target practicing, collecting guns and knives and making knives.  He especially loved his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother, Necia Helen Hammonds; a son, Matthew Kelley of Columbus; daughters, Tonicia Parker of GA, and Alexandria Caffee of FL; a sister, Lori Collett of TN; five brothers, Gerald Russell of Seymour, James Russell of North Vernon, Arlan Caffee of Henryville, Terry Caffee and Mark Caffee both of Scottsburg; and grandchildren, Hunter and Lucas Parker.

Omer was preceded in death by his father, Billy Gene Caffee, Sr. and his brother, Billy Gene Caffee, Jr.
