Norma McMahan, 88, of North Vernon, passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021, at home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Jerry Bell will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. till the start of the service on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the funeral home.

Born January 16, 1933, in Madison, Norma was the loving daughter of Melvin and Lucy (Pettit) Jenkins. She was united in marriage to Robert McMahan on August 26, 2012. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2017.

Norma graduated from Aurora High School. She retired after 26 ½ yrs. from Regal Rugs. She was a member of Chestnut St. Community Church. Norma enjoyed doing crafts, listening to gospel music, doing activities at the senior center, traveling, and growing flowers.

She is survived by daughters, Carol Jean Hadley of North Vernon, and Sheryl Ann Hawkins of North Vernon; stepdaughters, Jamie Davis of Madison, and Linda Schroeder of Salem; half-brother, Gilbert Leroy Moody of VA; grandchildren, Rodger Dean Hawkins, Levi G. M. Hawkins, Tabatha Hawkins, Tim Hadley Jr., Melissa Jean Sharp, Andrea Hadley, and April Michelle Besse; ten great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Lucy Jenkins; husband, Robert McMahan; son, Edward Barnes; half-brother, Frank Marvin Moody.
