Nora Jean Leach

Nora Jean Leach, 88, of North Vernon passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon.

Born August 8, 1920 in Jefferson, IN, she was the daughter of James and Ethel Tyler Buehler. She married Duard "Brooksie" Leach in 1941. He preceded her in death December 11, 1996.

Mrs. Leach was a member of St. Mary's Church in North Vernon. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and dancing.

She is survived by sons Jim (Debbie) Leach, David (Linda) Leach, and Mark (Kara) Leach; daughters Mary (Mike) Barlow and Lisa Butler, all of North Vernon; two sisters, Mabel Tatlock of Columbus, IN and Mary Morgan of Helena, MT; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Mike Leach, and one brother George Buehler.

Funeral Information

Funeral mass will be Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church in North Vernon, with Rev. Stephen Donahue officiating. Burial will be held in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 - 8 PM Wednesday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home. A Rosary service will be conducted at 4 PM.
