Mrs. Nina Jane Aldridge

Nina Jane Aldridge, 80 of Butlerville passed away at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon.
Born on August 1, 1930 in Deputy, she was the daughter of the late Delmar and Dorothy Bruther Jones. She married Howard Kenneth Aldridge in Newport, Kentucky on June 11, 1947. He preceded her in death and she went home to be with him on their anniversary. She retired from Muscatatuck State Developmental Hospital in 1990 after twenty three years of employment.
Nina enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, and reading and collecting western books.
Mrs. Aldridge is survived by three daughters, Sherry Smallwood of Elizabethtown, Sheila Bowling of Dupont, and Kathy Anderson of Hebron, KY, one brother, Duard Jones of West Sun City, AZ, two sisters, Marilyn Meeks of Columbus and Brenda Steinhardt of North Carolina, ten grandchildren, Kenneth Lakins, Melissa Redkey, Paul Bowling, Becky Bowling, Michael Anderson, Christina Harper, Daniel Anderson, Tabitha Ray, Rachael "Gabby" Ray, and Scott Schultz, and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Dorothy, husband, Howard, a sister, Idell Whitsitt, and infant brother, Jerry Jones, and a great grandson, Devon Bennett.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral Home on Thursday, June 16, 2011at 1 p.m. with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening and from noon until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be at Dupont Cemetery.
