Mrs. Nellie May Alvey

Nellie May Alvey, 76, of North Vernon, passed away Monday evening, February 9, 2009, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital.

Born November 9, 1932 in Trimble County, KY, she was the daughter of Steve S. and Essie Alma Aldridge Rowlett, they preceded her in death. She married Richard R. Alvey, he also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Alvey had been a homemaker throughout her life. She had been a foster parent for over 20 years, enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, and going to casino's.

Mrs. Alvey is survived by a son, Michael A. Miles of Bloomfield, OH, a daughter, Patricia Ann Barron, one brother, Ronald (Linda) Rowlett of North Vernon, and two sisters, B. Katherine Browning of Commiskey and Barbara (Larry) Heitz of Elizabethtown.

Mrs. Alvey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard R. Alvey, a son, Rodney Miles, four brothers; James W., Harold D., Caroll V., and Robert A. Rowlett.

Funeral Information

Visitation will be Saturday, February 14, 2009, from 1 to 3 PM at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home. There will be no funeral service.
