Michael D. Stamper, 66, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Columbus Transitional Care.

Military honors and inurnment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 6, 2018, at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.

Born September 21, 1951, in Madison, Michael was the son of Thomas and Judy Whitaker Stamper.  He had retired from the roofing business.  He enjoyed fishing, playing golf and his family and friends.

Michael is survived by a sister, Joyce Stamper of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Nick Stamper.
