Michael Ward Kern, 60, of Columbus passed away at 8:57 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born on July 18, 1949 in Great Lakes, Illinois, he was the son of the late Billy Dawson and Jessie Mae Hulse Kern Sr.

He was a graduate of Purdue University and worked in management. He served in the U.S. Army from.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Jessica Johnson of North Carolina and a brother, Billy D. Kern Jr. of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
