Mr. Michael L. Huckelberry

Michael Lee Huckelberry, 55, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:57 AM on Monday, March 12, 2012, at his residence.

Born in Seymour on April 3, 1956, Mike was the son of Robert and Rosetta Reynolds Huckelberry. He married Mona Graves Bowerly on June 9, 2007. She survives.

Mike was currently employed with Koch Mechanical as a job coordinator for HVAC division. He formerly had owned Design Air for 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Moose and VFW. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, being outdoors, IU basketball and playing music in his band "Dakota Band." He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his mother, Rosetta; two sons, Greg (Holly) Huckelberry of Westport and Steve (Carla) Huckelberry of North Vernon; two daughters, Chasity (Shawn) Gerkin and Courtney (Robin) Hatton, both of North Vernon; two stepsons, Jason (Kandle) Bowerly and Brandon Bowerly, both of North Vernon; one brother, Dennis (Rhoda) Huckelberry; six grandsons and five granddaughters.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert and his former wife, Mary Jo Ringer.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon. Rev. Jonathan Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday, March 16, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service, with a Rosary service on Friday at 3:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
