Mr. Michael S. Barlow

Michael Stewart Barlow 58, of North Vernon passed away at 11:15 pm on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born in Seymour on April 20, 1951, Michael was the son of William and Mary Ann Stewart Barlow. He married Mary Leach. She survives.

He graduated from Jennings County High School in 1969. He received his BA from Western Kentucky University in 1979. He owned and operated Barlow Construction in North Vernon for many years. He enjoyed playing golf with his son Ben, traveling, and working.

Michael is survived by his wife, Mary Leach Barlow of North Vernon; one son, Ben Barlow of North Vernon; brothers, Robert S. (Michele) Barlow II of Madison, John D. (Susie) Barlow of North Vernon; sisters, Mary Jo (Brad) Bender of Vernon, Kate (Phil) Nicolai of Lawrenceburg, sister-in-law, Lisa Barlow of North Vernon; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Billy Barlow, and a sister, Nancy Barlow.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Jonathon Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 pm - 8 pm Friday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral Home. A rosary service will be conducted at 3:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
