Melissa D. Pickett, 55, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, August 04, 2023, at The Waters of Scottsburg.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the Vernon Cemetery. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on October 11, 1967, in North Vernon, Melissa was the loving daughter of Charles and Judy (Robbins) Pickett.

Melissa enjoyed crafts and making jewelry. She liked flower gardens and listening to music. Most of all, Melissa loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include father, Charles Pickett of Seymour; stepsisters, Tina Marlene Abel of Seymour, and Julie Fisher of Madison; several nieces; former mother in law, Mary Hocking-Gilbert.

Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, Judy Pickett; brothers, Rusty and Scott Pickett.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Wayside Inn Homeless Shelter in North Vernon.
