Mary F. Sturgeon, 71, of Louisville, KY, formerly of North Vernon passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Jewish Hospital.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, August 28, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Joey Eaton will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday and from 12:00 PM Sunday until the time of the service. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery.

Born December 22, 1944, in Louisville, Mary was the daughter of John and Nellie Stultz Burkhead. She married Jerry Sturgeon in 1974. He preceded her in death in 2005.

Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of Garfield Baptist Church in Louisville. She enjoyed crocheting, and quilting. She dearly loved her family, grandchildren, her church and the Lord.

She is survived by sons, Albert and Alvin Baskerville of Louisville, James Baskerville of Westport; brothers, Sonny Kaiser of Tell City, and Paul Sturgeon of Munfordville, KY; grandchildren, Samantha Stone, Megan and Emily Baskerville, and many others that called her Mom or Grandma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Docia Coffman who raised her; sisters, Irene and Myrtle Coffman; brother, David Allen.
