Mrs. Mary Ellen Sargent

May 20, 1939 - April 21, 2009

Mary Ellen Sargent, 69, formerly of North Vernon passed away Tuesday April 21, 2009 at Hospice of the Blue Grass in Lexington, KY.

Born May 20, 1939 in Middletown, OH, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Thelma Hampton Shaffer. She married Franz Sargent. He survives.

Mary Ellen was a beautician who owned and operated her own beauty salon in North Vernon for 46 years. She loved her work and her clients. She was also an avid gardener.

She is survived by her husband Franz Sargent of Stamping Grounds, KY; three sons, Tony Euler of Henryville, David Euler of Stamping Grounds, KY and Richard Euler of North Vernon; two daughters, Cheryl Clark of Helmsburg, and LeeEllen Ruffner of Stamping Grounds, Ky; four brothers, Clyde and Rick Shaffer of North Vernon, Terry Hampton of Florida, and John Hume of Waverly, OH; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Suzanne Shaffer.

Funeral Information

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 5 PM Sunday April 26, 2009 at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Friends may visit from 1 PM until the time of the service.
