Mary Lewis, 58, of North Vernon died 9:54 a.m. Sunday, June 7, 2009 at St. Vincent-Jennings Hospital in North Vernon, Indiana.

Born February 13, 1951 in Somerset, KY, she was the daughter of the late Joe Inman and Laura Irene Meade Hartwell. She married Clarence Lewis on May 12, 1978, he survives.

Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and enjoyed family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence, sons, Blane Lee Cross of Westport, Kevin and Shawn Cross of North Vernon, daughters, Candy and Angela Cross of North Vernon, twelve grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, sisters, Wanda Jean Reynolds of Greenfield, Marjorie Ellen Reeves, Ruth Michelle Powers and Sara Lee (Armando) Martinez all of Lexington, TN, Diane Kay Hartwell of North Vernon, brothers, Kenneth Dean Inman of New Albany, Richard Lee Powers and Melvin Ray (Brittany) Powers of Lexington, TN, and Thomas Wayne (Penny) Powers of Westport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Patricia Ann Hubbert and Sondra Jane Powers and brother Paul Eugene Powers.

Funeral Information

Funeral services for Mrs. Lewis will be on Wednesday, June 10 at 5:00 p.m. Calling will be on Wednesday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Arrangements are made in care of Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home.
