Mrs. Mary L. Dent

November 14, 1934 - January 14, 2015

Mary L. Dent, 80, of North Vernon, passed away at 4:11 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born November 14, 1934, in Linton, IN, Mary was the daughter of the late William and Geneva Watson. She married Robert Dent on February 8, 1954, and he preceded her in death on January 27, 1997.

Mary had worked at Econolodge in Seymour in housekeeping. She enjoyed playing bingo, flower gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include four sons, Michael (Cari) Dent of LA, Richard (Linda) Dent of TX, David Dent of Butlerville and Brad Dent of Henryville; one daughter, Nancy Grogg of Seymour; five grandchildren, Michael Smith, Andrew and Melissa Scurlock, and Kathy and Dylan Dent; and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Mark Dent.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015, at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Edward Wooddell will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery..
