Mrs. Martha Ann Abell Norris

October 13, 1933 - May 25, 2013

Martha Ann Abell Norris, 79, of Franklin and formerly of Butlerville, passed away at 8:05 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Franklin United Methodist Community Home in Franklin.
Born October 13, 1933 in Jackson County, Martha was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Velva Childers Abell. She later married Donald Norris on November 7, 1954 whom preceded her in death on March 2, 2007.
Mrs. Norris had been employed at Cummins Engine Company most recently for a short time and prior to that had been employed at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. She enjoyed doing crafts with the members of the Home Extension Club for several years. She was also a member of the Shuffle Board Association.
She is survived by three sons, Mike Norris of Texas, Mark Norris, of St. Paul, and Dan Norris of Butlerville, one daughter, Dianna Greeson of Nineveh, two sisters, Kathryn Carr of Columbus and Betty Moorman of Seymour, one brother, Lawrence Abell of Scipio, 11 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Donald and her parents, Lawrence and Velva, and two grandsons, Donald Lee and Jonny Ray.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service in North Vernon. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery. A meal will be provided after the service by the Extension Club at the Zenas Baptist Church.
