Marilyn F. Whiteaker, 92, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:02 a.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the Four Seasons Retirement Center in Columbus.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Marvin Wright will officiate.

Born on June 23, 1930, in North Vernon, Marilyn was the loving daughter of Willis and Beulah (Anderson) Snyder. She was united in marriage to Don "Pinky" Whiteaker on June 20, 1953. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2008.

Marilyn was a secretary with the Jennings County School Corporation for 12 years, prior to devoting her life to raising her children. She was a member of Psi Iota XI Sorority. She enjoyed traveling and spent summers in Europe with her family at Marta's home in Switzerland. Most of all she cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Marisa (Dwight) Patterson of Scipio, and Marta (Hull Belmore) Whiteaker of Dubai; son, Mark (Michelle) Whiteaker of Rocky River, OH; grandchildren, Alexandra Belmore, Ellen Graham, Olivia Whiteaker, Danielle Storm, and Casey Patterson; great grandchildren, Brentley Graham, Ty Nicholson, Kennedy, Brynn, and Gideon Storm, Austin, Cameron, Mason, and Dawson Patterson.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Beulah Snyder; husband, Don Whiteaker; brother, John Snyder.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the Jennings County High School Panther Food Pantry, or the North Vernon Park Theater, or the National Parkinson's Foundation.
