Mrs. Marilyn J. Tungeitt

April 16, 1937 - December 15, 2009

Marilyn J. Tungeitt, 72, of North Vernon passed away at 12:20 am on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Jennings Health Care Center.

Mrs. Tungeitt worked at the Jennings County High School as a custodian. She enjoyed reading, animals and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

Born April 16, 1937 in Vernon, IN, she was the daughter of the late Ulysses Howard and Golda Myrick Arney. She married Floyd Tungeitt on March 5, 1955. He survives.

Marilyn is survived by her three sons; Donald (Mindy) Tungeitt, Gary Tungeitt of North Vernon and Dennis (Caroletta Linn) Tungeitt of Columbus; a daughter Carol Johnson of Butlerville; a brother, Cecil Arney of Mississippi; 6 grandchildren, April, Crystal, Amber and Gary Tungeitt; Jeremiah and Misty Johnson, and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Kenneth Arney; a sister, Betty Evans and grandchild, Donald Tungeitt.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home. Visitation will held Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Rev. Glenn Poynter will officiate. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
