Obituary

Margaret K. Lee, 100, of North Vernon passed away at 6:20 A.M. on Sunday, September 29, 2024, Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour, Indiana.

A Mass and Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate. Burial will follow at the Vernon Cemetery. A Rosary service will take place on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 3:30 at Sawyer Picket Funeral Home and Cremation service. Visitation will follow from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Born on April 21, 1924, in Vernon, Margaret was the daughter of William H. and Florence (Trapp) Simpson. She married Richard D. Lee. on October 12, 1942. He preceded her in death in 2000.

Margaret was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Margaret worked at the Just-Rite Grocery. Margaret also enjoyed Giving her time back to the Church by volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul, which she did until she was 95. Margaret was also on the funeral dinner committee at St. Mary's Catholic Church for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Delores Rettig (Raymond) of Elizabethtown; sons, Richard Lee of North Vernon, and Michael J. (Peggy) Lee of New Palestine and brother Robert Simpson of Columbus; six grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, William Simpson and John K. Simpson, and Sisters; Joanne Crow, and Rose Marie Eder.

Memorials may be made through the funeral to St. Vincent DePaul or Hospice Southern Care.
