Margaret I. Kipper, 75, of North Vernon, passed away at 12:25 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016, at St. Mary's Church in North Vernon.  Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate.  Visitation will take place at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday with a rosary service beginning at 1:30 p.m.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Born October 30, 1940 in Westport, Indiana, Margaret was the daughter of the late Clarence and Rose Hessler Hardebeck.  She graduated from Sandcreek High School in Decatur County, Indiana in 1958.  She married Donald Kipper on September 7, 1959 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Jennings County.  He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 2006 after 47 years of marriage.

Margaret retired from Regal Rugs in 2002 after 29 ½ years.  She was a member of St. Mary's Church in North Vernon.  Margaret enjoyed yard sales, puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by two sons, Donald Jr. "Butch" (Nancy) and David (Jennifer) Kipper; and one daughter, Rose (David) Walters all of North Vernon; one sister, Mary Runyan of Westport; one brother, William "Bill" Hardebeck of Westport; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband as well as two sisters, Marietta and Betta Hardebeck; two brothers, Norman and Elmer "Tony" Hardebeck; and one nephew, Bob Runyan.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society or St. Vincent Jennings Hospital Foundation.
