Maredia A. Wickens, 80, of North Vernon passed away at 5:50 PM on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at St. Vincent - Jennings Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Fr. Chris Craig will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. A Rosary Service will be held at 3:30 PM on Monday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will follow from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Born on July 12, 1945, in Seymour, Reda was the daughter of Andrew and Edith Stacy Gevedon. She married John "Jack" Wickens on October 29, 1976. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2019.
Reda was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She retired from Cummins, Inc. after twenty-five years where she worked as a clerk.
She enjoyed walking and family gatherings. In her earlier years she went to music festivals and traveled with her husband Jack.
Reda is survived by her son, Chad Wickens; half sister, Janie Roberson; grandchildren, Mercedes Franck, Dakota Miller, and Arminda Wickens; great-grandchildren, Onyx Miller and Raiden Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Scot Hull, and brother, Jack Gevedon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
