Marcolm W. Stiening, 56, transitioned from this life January 23, 2023. Just one day after his little brother, Derick.

To describe someone as indescribable as Marc is not an easy task. Like all people, Marc battled with inner turmoil, winning some and learning some along the way. He loved all things Civil War and was honored to participate in reenactments across Indiana. He was also a culinary genius, preparing food that would make any mouth water. But above it all, Marc's truest joy and love was his son, Max. He so enjoyed the time he spent with him doing things that they both loved, like throwing tomahawks at the target they made together in the garage. Max brought a meaning to Marc's life that no one else could ever compare. Being able to be his dad was Marc's ultimate gift, one he treasured more than anything.

There will not be a formal service for Marc. His family hope to hold a dual Celebration of Life for him and his brother, Derick, at a later date. Cremation was chosen. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

In the meantime, celebrate Marc with how you knew him best. Maybe play a game of D & D, read a great book, or debate the ways of the world. However you remember him it will most likely be indescribable, just like Marc.

Memorials in honor of Marcolm may be made through Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service at PO Box 112, North Vernon, Indiana 47265 for a trust fund that will be established for his son, Max.
