Mr. Mannon "Bobby" Abner Woods

March 13, 1954 - September 13, 2010

Mannon "Bobby" Abner Woods, 56 of North Vernon passed away at 6:35 p.m. on Monday evening, September 13, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born on March 13, 1954 in Perry County, Kentucky, Bobby was the son of the late Felix and Emma Bowling Woods. He graduated from Jennings County High School in 1972 where he loved playing basketball. Bobby then attended school at Brevard Jr. College in Florida before transferring to Georgia State University where also played basketball.

Mr. Woods owned and operated W & W Autocare in Atlanta, Georgia and later moved to North Vernon where he worked for Lowe's Distribution Center. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles and enjoyed hunting, fishing, music, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son, Zach Woods, Lawrenceville, GA; three sisters, Carolyn and Joyce Davidson of Kentucky, and Cathy Lockhard of North Vernon; five brothers, Jim Woods of Columbus, Grant Woods of North Vernon and Felix, Floyd and Danny Woods all of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Information

Cremation is planned with a gathering of family and friends on Friday, September 17th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home.
