Madonna H. Hillen, 88, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:54 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Majestic Health Care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate.  A Rosary service will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 5th, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.  Visitation will follow from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Born December 24, 1929, in North Vernon, Madonna was the daughter of Nicholas and Victoria Hillen.  She had worked at various hardware stores in the community throughout her life.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and had served as a foster grandparent at Sand Creek Elementary School.

Madonna is survived by her sister, Ann Matern of North Vernon and several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leo and Frank Hillen; and two sisters, Mary Jane Pollard and Catherine Hoffman.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Vincent DePaul or St. Mary's Church.
