Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorena Sue Harrison, who left us peacefully on October 3, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on April 25, 1948, in Jennings County, Indiana, Lorena was a beloved sister, friend, and colleague who touched the lives of many throughout her journey.

Lorena spent over sixteen dedicated years working as a Developmental Services Technician at the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center, where her compassion and commitment to helping others shone brightly. Before that, she worked at Jennings Swing Factory for a decade. Each role she took on reflected her tireless work ethic and caring nature.

A proud member of First Christian Church, Lorena found community and purpose in her faith, which was a guiding light in her life. She cherished the relationships she built with her family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of love and support.

Lorena is survived by her loving siblings: sisters Barbara Frische, Jean Feltner (and brother-in-law Marshall), Wilma Morris, and brothers Wayne, David, Danny, and Robert Harrison (along with sister-in-law Emma). Her family was her pride and joy, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In honor of Lorena's memory, a graveside service will be held at Dupont Cemetery on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM, where we will gather to celebrate her life and the warmth she brought into our world. We invite family and friends to join us in this remembrance.

Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Lorena's arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Lovett School Reunion, or First Christian Church Shoe Box Ministry.

Rest in peace, Lorena. Your kind spirit and generous heart will forever remain in our memories.Lorena was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ina Long Harrison; brothers, Ronnie, and Benton Harrison.

A Celebration of Life in Lorena's honor will be held at First Christian Church in North Vernon immediately following the interment.
