Linda L. Redmond, 74, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022, at home.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Michael Bean will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service.

Born on July 16, 1948, in Brewersville, Linda was the loving daughter of Lawrence and Evelyn (Bowerly) Mathews. She was united in marriage to Ronald Redmond on August 10, 1968. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2019.

Linda retired as a supervisor from Muscatatuck State Developmental Center after 30 years of employment. She was a member of the Vernon Presbyterian Church. Linda enjoyed her puzzle club, sewing, and researching her genealogy.

Linda is survived by daughter, Elizabeth (Travis) Hearne of North Vernon; son, John (Karen) Redmond of Seymour; brother, Dennis Mathews of North Vernon; grandchildren, Taleena, Walker, and Zella Hearne, and Dakota Redmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Evelyn Mathews; husband, Ronald Redmond; son, Lawrence Robert Redmond; brother, Harvey Mathews.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society or the Schneck Hospice.
