Linda L. Lutes, 81, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Majestic Care.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Zion Baptist Church. Dr. Bill Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service, at the church. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on September 26, 1942, in Jennings County, Linda was the loving daughter of Audley and Grace (Cannon) Stearns.

Linda retired after many years of working for Regal Rugs. She had also been a hairdresser over the years. After retirement, she moved to Florida where she worked at Publix Grocery.

Left to cherish Linda's memory is sisters, Katie Zech of Seymour, and Sandy Gillespie of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Audley and Grace Stearns; sisters, Helen Hooker, Marilyn McIntosh, and Alice Stearns; brothers, Donald, and Fred Stearns.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue or the Zion Baptist Church.
