Leo M. Smith

February 16, 1928 - July 14, 2011

Leo M. Smith, 83 of North Vernon passed away at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at his residence.
Born on February 2, 1926 in Louisville, Leo was the son of the late James Solon and Shirly Iren Smith. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1946 until 1948 and later married Mary Maxin Smith and she preceded him and death. Mr. Smith had been employed at the Arvins Tech Center.
He is survived by four sons, Charles P. Smith, James D. Smith, and Christopher Smith all of North Vernon and Michael K. Smith of Evansville, two daughters, Dana Lynn Day of Astori, Oregon and Ronda Lee Ritz of Dayton, OH, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary.
