Mr. Larry "Bud" Tungate

Larry "Bud" Tungate, 63, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at his residence.

Born June 12, 1951, in Taylor County, KY, Larry was the son of the late Robert and Ida Mae Garrett Tungate. He was a graduate of Taylor County High School. On August 22, 2009, he married Teresa Grigsby. She survives.

Larry had been employed at Arvins, Muscatatuck State Developmental Center, Swifty and Superior Building Service. He enjoyed yard sales, fishing, mechanic work, gardening, and walking his dog, Sally.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa; daughter, Lisa Mae Tungate of Campbellsville, KY; four sons, Larry G. Tungate of Campbellsville, KY, Christopher Tungate of Columbus, Robert Tungate of North Vernon and Shawn Murry of North Vernon; two stepdaughters, Beth Baker of Seymour and Sara Bott of North Vernon; two brothers, Clifton and Max Tungate of North Vernon; five sisters, Roxie Mitchell of Campbellsville, KY, Tassie Peak of Bardstown, KY, and Carolyn Waltermire, Shelby Miller and Linda Hadley, all of North Vernon; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lonnie, Clelland "Whitey" and Sandy Tungate; and one sister, Tranna Mae Tungate Greer.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Mike Biggs will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
